Weekend in Pictures: Road Trip!

We had another busy weekend filled with fun stuff for Sawyer. First stop was a visit to the St. Louis Arch. We didn't get a chance to go up because it was booked until late in the afternoon but that did bother Sawyer one bit. He loved running around underneath and looking up at it, we also walked down to the Riverfront to see the boats.

Second, we went to Lego Kidsfest at the Convention Center. While Sawyer was a little cranky since he missed his nap, he loved it! Especially the Jake and the Neverland Pirates display. It was basically a big play zone with lots of things to do, they had limited tickets sold so it wasn't as insane as you might imagine.

After, we visited my cousin Meghan, her boyfriend Nick at their new house, and my Aunt Julie and Uncle Scott met us as well. She lives in Dogtown near Forest Park so we walked to dinner at a yummy pub called Seamus McDaniel's. Sawyer's favorite part was after dinner, opening his birthday gifts and playing lego's with Uncle Scott.

Sunday, we grabbed a yummy breakfast at the famous Uncle Bill's Pancake House near where I grew up and then met up with Mike & Andrea Champlin to meet their new adorable addition, Hayden.

We made it home around 4, with enough time to enjoy the nice Spring weather at the park.

so excited he even kissed Jake

Kitchen Experiments with Sawyer: Chocolate Chip Banana Cookies

One of our favorite places is the new Bambino's Smoothie Cafe B2, we go there at least once a week for the Trail Mix Smoothie (I have a blog post on our version coming soon). Sawyer asked for a cookie on one of our last trips and we have now found our favorite cookie...The Chocolate Chip Banana. It's light, fluffy and almost muffin like. I decided it would be a fun experiment to have Sawyer help me make some at home. Sawyer was a great help for his first cookie baking experience, it actually held his attention the whole time. We will definitely be trying out more recipes soon.
Here's our version:

Chocolate Chip Banana Cookies
