Baby Kaiden Shower: A little peanut is on his way

Mom-to-be Cindie
My sister Amie, Mother-in-law and I hosted a baby shower for my sister-in-law Cindie at Big Whiskey's last weekend. She is due to give birth to her first child, Kaiden in early June. Cindie and her husband Rob affectionately refer to him as Peanut, hence the theme. I created the invitations & signage. My sister Amie created the adorable banner from scrapbook paper I found. I also attempted my first Diaper Wreath, it was so easy! The adorable cake was created by one of my co-workers Lauren, who also did the cute Superhero cookies at Sawyer's first birthday party (see party post here).
I am so excited to be an Aunt for the first time and it will be great to have a little cousin running around with Sawyer. It was a wonderful shower and Cindie was showered with gifts for her bundle of joy! After the shower Sunday, we visited Cindie and Rob's house to see the nursery and have some family photos taken. The nursery looks great and Sawyer really enjoyed "testing" out all of Kaiden's toys. Cindie even hung a few of the shower items we made in the nursery.

Trina bought a house!

Painting party!
Being a part of some one's major life moments is what makes Friendships so special. My best friend Trina and I have been through just about every type and her buying a house this past week is just as momentous. I am so happy for her to have her own place to call home. And she snagged a beautiful new home!
We stopped by Sunday to see the new digs and then last night came back to help her finish painting (long story short she had to fire her crazy painter). We joke that her new house should be called "50 Shades of Grey" from the various Grey paints she choose for her house colors - there is at least 3 or 4.

Congratulations Trina! I have no doubt many unforgettable memories will take place there.

Water boy

As I have posted before, Sawyer is a natural in the water. See past posts: here and here
He is obssesed with bath time and the pool!
We were playing a little game with him the other night where John would stick his whole head under and say "Sawyer, can you put your face in?" and he would act like he was going too but then out of the blue he actually went all the way under and came up giggling like crazy. We continued to play this game for a good 10 minutes. John was soaked and Sawyer didn't want to stop. I think it is safe to say he is ready for the summer and pool days at Grandma & Grandpa's.
Here's the video:

A little COLOR with your Run

Unless you have been living under a rock, you've most likely heard of the color run phenomenon. It is a fun run (not timed) where you get sprayed with cornstarch non-staining colors. It's like every child's dream come true. I finally got to partake in my first color run this past Saturday in the Color Me Rad 5K. It sure didn't feel like a true 5K by the length or atmosphere. There is a certain motivation to keep running so you hit the next color station. As you can see from my face in the after pictures, my personal favorite was the Pink. I ran it with some close friends (my hubby, Megan, Trina, Krissy, Ashley and Chris), our team name: Cray Cray-olas! We looked so RAD at the end. Even the rain didn't stop us. Here are the colorful pics.
