Sawyer + Kaiden's Build-a-Bear Adventure

Sawyer's aunt Cindy, uncle Rob and cousin Kaiden gifted him a Build-a-Bear gift certificate for his 2nd Birthday. I think this was partially because John's sister Cindy knew John was totally against the idea of taking Sawyer there (that's what sisters are for, right?) but also because it was a chance to have a field trip with our little guys. 

John, Sawyer, Cindy, Kaiden, Grandma Donnetta and me met at the Branson Landing for Sawyer and Kaiden's first BAB experience. And to John's surprise, Sawyer loved it and I think he had some fun too. Of course, he picked out the most expensive item...a Tiger dressed as a hockey player.  He named him T.T Oshie (Truman the Tiger Oshie), for you non-Blues/ Mizzou fans that is a mix of T.J. Oshie (St. Louis Blues player) and Truman (Mizzou's mascot). Kaiden made a monkey that he let Sawyer name, he picked Truman....again. Sawyer even helped him fill and wash him. Thanks to Cindy & Rob for a great gift and a fun day!

Sawyer's 1st Hockey Game

Growing up in St. Louis, Hockey was always a big part of my family. My father played and coached most of my life and at a very young age I was playing at the ice rink. My father has the same hope for his first grandson and John and I would love to see Sawyer get to play hockey.  Even when Sawyer watching Hockey on television, he runs up to the screen, points and says "Hock".
So when my parents invited us a couple months back to join them for Sawyer’s 1^st St. Louis Blues Hockey game (versus the Chicago Black Hawks), we jumped at the opportunity. We were also able to visit with my grandparents and my Aunt & Uncle from Chicago drove down to join us as well. Of course, they brought with them their hideous Black Hawk’s jerseys (I kid, I kid). My cousin Meghan and her boyfriend Nick were also at the game and sat with us for a while. Unfortunately, we lost 2-0 but Sawyer could care less, he enjoyed every minute of it. Danced to all the songs and even followed the puck from one end of the ice to the other. I think we have a little hockey fan.
