Scout // Week two

Just as every mom says, time sure does fly by. I can't believe we have had two weeks with our little man Scout. He is doing great and we are enjoying every day. He had his second week check-up yesterday which was my actual due date. His doctor was very happy with how well he is doing! I swear is the most smiley baby I have ever met. We love his little dimple! Sawyer is still doing great and is really a great helper. So far, we haven't seen any regression or acting out since becoming a big brother!
Woohoo, no shots today!

Scout two week stats

weight: 8 lbs. 10 oz. (at birth he was 8 lbs. 7 oz.) - 52 percentile
length: 21.25 inches (at birth he was 21 inches) - 83 percentile
head circumference: 14.57 inches (at birth he was 14 inches) - 83 percentile
clothing: newborn
eating: breast milk, eating every 3-4 hours
sleeping: about 20 hours a day
other updates:  His jaundice is almost gone, she said it is about at his bicep and up (it moves from feet to head) and still shows in his eyes but that could last for up to 4 weeks. His umbilical cord finally fell off so we can give him a normal bath now! Also since he is eating and having regular diapers, they said we can let him sleep longer. Most night he wants to sleep through the every 3 hour feeding rule, she said we can now even let him go up to 6 hours once per night. Yay!! We are strictly breast feeding again like I did with Sawyer, and I definitely have a huge supply! I have frozen probably around 25 bags...which is great for when I return back to work.

Hamra Boy #2 // Baby Watch

I had my weekly check up yesterday and things are progressing. And we are officially at that point where any day he could come.

Here are my stats....
Dilated - yep...at a 3 - I was a 1 last week
Effaced - 70% (need to be 100)
Station - negative 2
Measuring - 40 weeks (I am only 37, another big boy) - I measured 37 weeks last week
Baby's Heart Rate - 150

My Stats look a lot like the blog I posted the week before Sawyer came: http://www.hamratime.com/2012/02/baby-hamra-doctor-update.html

She also did that fun procedure (stripping membranes) I mentioned in my blog last week.
It didn't hurt and was very quick. She said she didn't think he would come in the next couple days because my cervix still needs to thin more and his head (while in position and down) needed to descend a little more. The procedure speeds up this process but you just never know if it will work. She said if I make it to my next appointment next Wednesday and no baby she is going to induce me.

Great news though is she confirmed my platelets are still in good range to get an epidural if I want one. She doesn't imagine it will drop enough to change that.

Friday my contractions started really intensifying and are getting more consistent. We had tickets to the St. Louis Cardinals game Sunday but John and I decided to stay home due to the contractions and pre-labor pains (in my back). Sawyer still went with my parents and unfortunately the game ended up getting rained out. I am very glad I stayed back, plus now we have tickets to a game in July for the rain makeup.

I have to share a cute Sawyer story too. He is so excited to meet his brother and on the way to school Tuesday he said, "My brother is coming today". I had to fill him in on how there is a chance but really mommy was just going to the doctor to see if he was ready to come out yet and if he was I would go the hospital. He then asked, "Well, who will pick me up then?" I made sure he knew we had a plan. Later that same day, obviously still thinking about our conversation, I got a text from his teacher telling me he was extremely upset and worried about me and wanted to give me a call. He kept telling her, "My baby came out and I am not there." So I called and comforted him and told him he would definitely be the first person to know when his brother is coming. So sweet!

Our bags are packed including a nice Big Brother surprise for Sawyer. My mom took Sawyer shopping Monday to let him pick out a gift for his brother and for himself. He was so sweet and picked out a sound machine just like he has in his room. For himself he got a new Chuggington train and a Jake and the Neverland Pirates toy.

Hamra Baby #2 Reveal

We got to meet our see little nugget today, we brought Sawyer along and he stayed with my mom in the waiting room awaiting the news.

Checking out his little?!?!?

It's a boy!!!
My mom got us little goodie bags

Sawyer called this his "nose"...sure, we'll go with that.

When I got back to work, my sweet coworkers had a little reveal for me.

Sawyer's 18 Month Check-up

Playing until the doctor came in

I got so busy with shower planning and John heading back to school,  I forgot to post an update after Sawyer's 18 month Doctor's visit last week. Everything looked great, plus he didn't have to get any shots! His ears are finally all cleared up too, only ailment now is his darn allergies! Next visit isn't until he is 2, wow that seems so far away (but really only 6 months).

Height: 33 inches - 68.4 percentile
Weight 29 pounds - 93.60 percentile
Head: 18.82 inches - 60.62 percentile
Vocabulary: She had me write out all the word he has said and I couldn't even fit them on the page. By 2 years of age, they want children saying at least 50 words and a few 2-word combinations. Well, Sawyer blew that out of the water and I am so proud.

His ever-expanding vocabulary list...couldn't fit it all on so I stopped.
