Sawyer: 20 Months

20 Months!!!
20 Months Old!! Only 4 months away from the big 2! He already knows that and will answer the question "How old will you be on your birthday?" He is a rambunctious, rough and tough little boy but is so loving and sweet. He loves the cardinals and tells everyone "GO CARDINALS!" His little voice is adorable and he knows how to communicate what he wants completely. A couple major changes this month....he got his first hair cut and he actually enjoys watching movies! We had some family photos taken for our Christmas Card and we got a sneak peak at a few that I have included below. My friend & Coworker Cheryl did them and she is amazing!

Love the lighting
I could kiss that face all day!
With his favorite toy Mr. Hamra (as he calls him)

Height: 33 inches

Eating:  Has really cut back on eating, will pick and stuff but not eat big meals. Usually has one big meal a day.

Sleeping: Great sleeper, I have to wake him up for school now. Goes to bed about 7:45-8 p.m. and I wake him up around 6:45-7 a.m.

Clothing18-24 months in pants and 2T in shirts. Size 6 shoes.

Diapers: size 5
Play day at the Park with Mom!
Where's Sawyer?
Wee!
Playing: Loves playing in his tunnels and building towers just to knock them down. He even loves making blankets into forts and hiding under them. Running and hiding is always a favorite pastime. He has become obsessed with the movie "Wreck it Ralph" and watches it everyday after school. Every time we are in the car we watches the movies "Cars". It has become quite the routine. Still loves to read and  his favorite book right now is Oh My Oh My Oh Dinosaur.

Teething:  All his teeth are in!
Paisley feeding Sawyer Coffee
Talking:  This boy says everything. Whenever I think he doesn't understand something he proves me wrong. He says 2 and 3 word sentences and understands practically everything. He is also very polite and says please, thank you and your welcome. My favorite thing is in the morning when I drop him off to school he says "bye bye mommy, love you" and then kisses me and walks to the window to wave to me as I drive away. Melts my heart every time.
My handsome young man
Potty Training: has gone 3-4 times on the potty this month but still not 100% sold on the whole idea.
Posing before our photo session
Other developments:  Has been known to be a little rough at school, pushes when someone tries to take his things. We are working on "gentle" touches and re-directing him but it is still a work in progress. Tantrums are still going strong but hasn't had as many this month. He did have another ear infection last week and is on antibiotics, hopefully the don't keep happening. We go back in a month to follow-up.

Sawyer: 19 Months

Another month down and that much closer to being a 2 year old. He sure does already act like one. Tantrums are in full force and he voices his opinion on the daily. He has become speaking in sentences and is great at following directions. He has also starting saying "bye bye mommy, love you" in the morning when I drop him off. He almost pushes me out the door. I love sending him to a place he loves so much!

STATS

Weight30

Length: 33 inches

Eating:  Becoming very picky. He eats one big meal a day and picks at the rest. His favorites are the same as last month. He ate a salmon burger the other day and liked it but it didn't seem to sit too well in his stomach.

We have Mommy/Sawyer Saturdays...he is so sweet!

Sleeping: Still a great sleeper, averaging 10-11 hours a night. Naps during the day have been a little shorter during the week but still long on the weekends. Also still consistently falling asleep at lunch.

Clothing18-24 months in pants and 2T in shirts. Size 6 shoes.

Diapers: size 5

Sawyer with Rocco, This is how he poses for pictures now :)

Playing: Turning into a sports-fanatic. Loves baseball, basketball and football and just got his first Hockey set (thanks Aunt Jules & Uncle Scott). Anything outdoors or that involves running/climbing he wants to do. But on an opposite note, his current favorite activity is reading. He will sit and read with me for hours (no lie). His favorite books are Goodnight Moon, There's a Wocket in my Pocket, The Foot Book, Spot and Little Blue Truck.

he'll hang from anything he can find
Teething:  All the teeth he will have until his 2 molars.

Talking: He is an amazing talker, I must brag on him for a bit! They tested him at school and he tested in language at 26 months!! Last night the parents as teachers lady came to do his 18 month screening and was very impressed with his development since she saw him last spring. He got perfect scored on all categories and he even showed off a bit with his language. He has also learned his whole name and understands the differences between hot, cold and warm. He loves seeing his shadow when we play outside and will say "Hi Shadow" and wave at it.
Some of his new impressive word combos:
"I don't like that"
"In a minute"
"I'm excited!"
"Airplane, Chicago"
"where are you"

18 month Screening Results!!!

Potty Training: Still sits on it but not really that interested

Other developments:  Still hasn't used a pacifier (mimi) and hasn't seemed to noticed. He is quite the tantrum thrower and we are trying to figure out ways to handle these (yes we will take suggestions). He has started to hit when he gets overly tired and most reactions from us just make him laugh. He does still feel bad after a while and will hug and kiss to make us feel better.
