Mizzou Trips

We love everything Mizzou! So, when we got the chance to head to Columbia for two basketball games, two weekends in a row...we were pumped!

First weekend, we brought the Tarwater's for our annual #hamwater Mizzou trip, this year sans the kiddos. They are getting ready to move to Texas in a few weeks and we wanted to make sure we keep the tradition alive.

The second weekend, we brought the Waddell's for the Arkansas game. Nicole is a fellow Mizzou alum and she was able to bring her adorable son Beckett for his first Tiger basketball game.

Both weekends we were sure to check out Shakespeare's pizza, a Columbia must!

Lost & Found's 2nd Annual Game Day

I am blown away daily at the generosity and big hearts that you can find in the Springfield community. Being a volunteer/supporter of Lost & Found Grief Center over the past 2 years has been such a blessing. I have gotten to volunteer and become friends with amazing philanthropists that care so much for the cause. As I posted last year, Game Day,  is an event that was created by the Lost & Found Young Ambassador Board (see post here: http://www.hamratime.com/2012/10/lost-founds-game-day.html).  I have been on this board since the creation, 2 years ago, and we have seen this event grow and become a signature fundraiser for the organization. We couldn't be happy with how it turned out and will start the planning for the 3rd Annual event in a few short months. The event was held at Springfield Brewing Company again as a watch party for Mizzou who played (and beat) Vanderbilt. John was a crazy raffle salesman again and with his other sellers managed to SELL OUT of raffle tickets. Once again, Trina and I built a mean balloon arch...I think we may be pros now.
Thanks for everyone who came out to help us raise money for Lost & Found (totals still coming in), we appreciate it so much!! See you next year!

Dickerson Park Zoo Visit

It might actually be spring here in Springfield!!! With the beautiful weather we had last weekend, Saturday my parents, Sawyer and I decided to spend the afternoon at Dickerson Park Zoo. It was Sawyer's first trip to the Springfield Zoo. We took him to the St. Louis Zoo last fall (see post here) when he was 7 months but he didn't quite appreciate it like he did last weekend. His favorite were the monkeys and the deer. He also got to chase a peacock. We plan to take him back a few times this summer.

Mizzou Homecoming 2012

This trip to Columbia marked John and I's 11th Mizzou Homecoming and our 1st SEC game. We had originally planned to bring Sawyer but when the forecast said high of 43 with an 11:00 AM game, we decide next year might have to be his first trip.
Thanks to my wonderful parents for watching him!
We made it into town Friday night to meet the Milbach's for drinks at Trey and late night snacks at Addison's with some of our other college friends (The Duncan's, Ahren's, Weston's and McMillen's). The Milbach's were kind enough to let us stay at their lovely home (it is impossible to get a hotel room on Homecoming weekend). Saturday, we started tailgating around 9:00 am and it was cold! Luckily we got to watch the game from the Tiger Lounge which is enclosed & heated. After the Tiger's win, we headed to the Weston's for food and a quick dance party and then decided to hit the town for some Willy's & Field House. Of course we had to end the night with a trip to El Rancho.  Ad you can see from the pictures, the them of the weekend was lots of dancing and chest bumps,
