Our First Christmas as Husband and Wife

11 months after our wedding, we celebrated our first Christmas together. It was so perfect and we feel so blessed to have gotten to spend it with all sides of our family. We traveled to St. Louis the Friday before Christmas to see my mom's family and then Saturday we celebrated with my dad's side. We even got to stop by my grandma grave site to see her new memorial stone. Sunday, we drove back to Springfield to see John's dad's family and then finished up the celebrating with John's mom and step-dad at St. John's for Derrick's 2nd round of Chemo Treatments. While this might be our first Christmas together, it is our last one with just the two of us. Next year, little man will be joining us and we couldn't be more excited. He got lots of adorable gifts this year too!! John surprised me with a new iPhone 4Gs and Toms, he is the best! Baby Hamra: 30 weeks

Merry Christmas, only a few short day until the celebrating begins and we couldn't feel more blessed this year. We went back to the doctor last week and everything looked great, his heartbeat was a healthy 150 bpm. The nurse said he is measuring about normal now compared to the 4 weeks ahead he measured last visit. Looks like we have ourselves a little trickster. We go back to the doctor now every 2 weeks so we will continue to post updates. Also last week we started our 6 week birthing Lamaze classes. We love the nurse who is teaching them and it is really helping to calm some of our fears. Special thanks to Megan Johnson, Anna Whitaker and Katrina Appelquist for the amazing Shower Invites that arrived in the mail yesterday, they are so stinking cute!! Can't wait for the shower. Also thanks to Melanie & Sam Blair for the adorable monthly tie stickers to use after he arrives, such a fun idea! Congrats to the Blair's on the news of their pregnancy with twins. Hamlet is excited to have a couple new pals come next summer.

Baby Hamra 30 weeks
Countdown: 70 days, 10 weeks
Size: 15.7-17.0 inches - size of  cabbage/butternut squash
Weight: 2.75-3.1 lbs
Facts this week: As baby's skin smoothes out, his brain just keeps getting more wrinkled. All those grooves and indentations increase surface area, meaning more room for that oh-so-essential brain tissue. His grip is now strong enough to grasp a finger. (from thebump.com)
