Thanksgiving 2011

Thanksgiving was a little different than years past. We stayed in Springfield instead of heading to St. Louis and my parents decided to host this year. John's step-dad Derrick started his Chemo treatments Monday before Thanksgiving so we spent a few days visiting with him at the hospital. John's mom wanted to keep Derrick company so we brought them some yummy food at the hospital to enjoy. He was released Saturday and will be back in 5 weeks for his second treatment.

Baby Hamra: 26 weeks

We started off the morning with a fabulous maternity session with Jared from J Designs Studios, who did our wedding and engagement photos last year.
We can't wait to see the sneak peaks, Jared always does such an amazing job!
Check out his work here: http://www.jdesignstudios.com/

After our session we heading to our every 4 week doctor's appointment. First I met with the doc and she checked my weight, baby's heart beat and measured me as usual. The thing that caught us off guard was my measurement. Last appointment as I had blogged, she said I was measuring about 2 weeks ahead. This time.....4 weeks! So where we are thinking we are 26 weeks we might actually be 30. WOWSERS! She hasn't changed my due date yet but wants to see me in 3 weeks and will give me an update then. She doesn't think I have a "big" baby per se due to my low weight gain just might have had the due date wrong. After I met with my doctor I went and had my glucose test done (gestational diabetes) and luckily it came back negative.

26 weeks, we think...
Baby Stats this week: Size of a hothouse cucumber. 2.0-2.25 pounds.
About 15 inches long (from head to tow).
Nakato's & Bowling with the Johnson's on Saturday

Other news in the Hamra world is John finally caved and bought eye glasses, he has needed them for a while but has been putting it off. He looks so cute and is so happy to finally see, he was so shocked at the difference once he put them on. Like he said, it is like everything is in HD.

Like his daddy

John's mom and step-dad came to visit this weekend and affirmed our already sneaking suspicion that our son is going to be spoiled! No complaints here! We shopped and had lunch and Hamlet's closet is started to closely resemble his father's. We feel so blessed that so many people are already loving our little man. Thanks all for the love and support. We truly couldn't do it without our family and friends!

Baby Hamra: 24 Weeks

Little Man is 24 weeks and making a very nice appearance. Today would be John and my's 11 year dating anniversary but according to him we have to start over now that we are married...Anyway...
This week he is the size of an ear of corn from head to rump (not including his little arms and legs). I really like the analogy using juice boxes since soon these will be filling our refrigerator. My pregnancy app said he is larger than the length of 2 juice boxes stacked on top of each other and weighs more than about 4 of the boxes (or 1.25-1.5 pounds). I just can't believe he is already getting so big.

On another note, I found a new drink when I was visiting Hy-Vee this morning that is pregnant-friendly. Perrier came out with a line of flavored water. It actually has calcium and no sugar or caffeine, another good option when you just get sick of water. Also super props to Hy-Vee for the Expecting Mothers parking spots. It was my first time using one of these spots and it was the first spot in their lot. Definitely came in handy after all my shopping.

Our little ear of corn

as long as two juice boxes

weighs about the same as 4 juice boxes
