One Year Checkup & Big boy changes at School

Sawyer had his 1 Year Pediatrician check-up yesterday afternoon. While his stats came in awesome, he ended up having to get 4 shots and a blood draw,  yikes!!! His weight and height have improved immensely!!

His last checkup was Dec. 6, 2012 and he weighed 17 lbs. (20th percentile), was 27 1/2 inches tall (15th percentile) with a head circumference of 17 1/2 inches.

Now at his one year, he weighs 22 pounds (60th percentile) is 30 inches tall (50th percentile) and has a head circumference of 17.9 inches (35th percentile). Huge improvement!!!

The blood draw was to check his hemoglobin level since he was breastfeed for a year. They want to make sure he was getting enough iron. Turns out he wasn't, because his levels came back low which means he is anemic. We start iron supplements today (3x daily) and they want us to come back in a month for another blood draw to see how his levels are. Poor guys was very sore this morning from all the shots and we are keeping him on a regular regimen of Tylenol until the pain goes away.

On a positive note, today at school since he turned one, is the first day of him eating all regular food/milk and moving from a crib to a cot!! His teacher was kind enough to send me some pics, looks like he is adjusting very well!!
Malt o Meal and Berries for breakfast
Yep, he finished it all up
Lunch was lasagna, green beans and tropical fruit
Got to spend lunch with him, eating all by himself.

Sawyer's new cot
Looks cozy to me!
