Weekend in Pictures // Dallas

I traveled to Dallas last Friday morning for work and while we had a lot to accomplish, we also got to enjoy ourselves a little after the work was done. Thanks to our amazing hostess we were able to see the Dallas Aurora Festival on Friday evening and then see Taylor Swift in concert Saturday night.  We may work long hours but we make sure we get in some fun time too! One of my favorite artist, Vance Joy opened for her as well as Shawn Mendes. Taylor also brought out a surprise guest, Ellie Goulding to perform. She packed the house with 62,000 fans. Her show was incredible, definitely a must see!

It was the first time I left Scout overnight but I did better than I thought, I honestly didn't have time to think about how much I missed him. I joke that I felt like I pumped all over the city of Dallas but it is pretty much true. Traveling as a nursing mom is hard work.
Boy, was I glad to snuggle all my boys when I got home Sunday and it was a beautiful day so we enjoyed a nice long walk as a family. It was the first time Scout got to ride facing out in the Bjorn too.

Here are some videos from the festival and the concert. Funny thing is I uploaded the full Bad Blood performance to my YouTube channel and I got a notice from YouTube that is has been blocked due to a copyright claim. That has never happened with any of the other concert videos I have posted. So here are the others ones they allowed me to share.....

The Great Daddy Surprise

For anyone that knows my husband, knows he is a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. He has never lived in Dallas or doesn't even have family there, however he did grow up in the 90s when they were super popular and had some of the all time greats (Deion Sanders, Emmit Smith, etc.). So at a very young age he was a follower and has loved them ever since. When the opportunity came up to go to a game, I knew I would do whatever it took to get him tickets and that is how the Great Daddy Surprise was born. I ordered some shirts for the boys, made a little movie trailer and signs, and then the boys and I hid in the bedroom to give John the best birtday gift ever (his words)....the chance to see America's team play at Jerry's World in December. It will also be a chance for us to have a small getaway sans kids for our 5 year wedding anniversary. It's a win-win. We will be traveling with my boss (#bossfriend) and her husband and from what I hear our seats are going to be quite the treat for Mr. Hamra. Don't worry, another post to come.

Sawyer's first field trip

How is my baby old enough to be going on field trips? Seems strange!
His class took a field trip yesterday to Rutledge Wilson Farm Park, a perfect way to kick off Fall! My mom and I were able to join the class and Sawyer was thrilled.
The weather was perfect and they enjoyed story time in the barn, getting to pet a bunny, playing on the playground, and lots of animal sightings (including adorable baby pigs). You can tell they were all worn out after. Sawyer told me this morning he wants to go on field trips every day. I am sure his teachers might not love that idea.

Thanks to Miss Lindsey and all the staff and teachers at Lighthouse for planning such a fun day for them!
